Biomassa, macronutrientes e carbono orgânico na serapilheira depositada em trecho de Floresta Estacional Semidecidual Submontana, ES

Abstract

O presente estudo teve por objetivos quantificar o aporte anual de serapilheira, macronutrientes e carbono orgânico em um trecho de Floresta Estacional Semidecidual Submontana, no Município de Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (ES), verificar a variação temporal de deposição de serapilheira e macronutrientes; e investigar a existência de correlações entre as variáveis climáticas e características estruturais da vegetação e a produção de serapilheira. A amostragem da serapilheira depositada foi realizada em 12 parcelas de área fixa (20 m x 50 m), sendo as mesmas distribuídas de forma sistemática no campo, totalizando 1,2 ha de área amostrada. Em cada uma das 12 parcelas foram distribuídos cinco coletores de forma sistemática, totalizando 60 coletores, onde foi realizada a coleta mensal do material depositado sobre os coletores. Após a coleta, as amostras foram levadas imediatamente para o laboratório, onde foram separadas nas frações folhas/miscelâneas e galhos. Determinaram-se os teores de macronutrientes (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S) e carbono orgânico (Corg). O estudo da deposição de serapilheira na floresta foi analisado segundo o delineamento em blocos casualizado, com 12 tratamentos (meses do ano) e 12 repetições (para efeito de cálculo, os coletores na parcela foram unidos, formando 1,25 m² de coleta, e cada parcela tornou-se um bloco). A deposição de serapilheira mostrou-se sazonal, com maiores produções ocorrendo no final da estação seca, produzindo no decorrer de um ano 9,3 Mg ha-1, sendo a fração de maior deposição a folhas/miscelâneas, que representou 89,0% da deposição total. Observou-se pequena variação nos teores de macronutrientes no decorrer do ano, sendo o cálcio e o fósforo respectivamente o macronutriente encontrado em maior e menor teor e conteúdo em todas as frações do estudo. Ocorreu um retorno total de 506,62 kg ha-1 ano-1 de macronutrientes.

This study aimed at quantifying the annual production of litter, macronutrients and organic carbon in a section of Submontane Seasonal Semideciduous Forest in the municipality of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (ES); checking the temporal variation of litter and macronutrients; and investigating the correlations between climatic variables and vegetation structure and litter production. A sampling of deposited litter was taken in 12 fixed area plots (20 m x 50 m), and was distributed systematically in the field, totaling 1.2 ha of sampled area. In each of the 12 plots five collectors were distributed in a systematic way with a total of 60 collectors, which were collected monthly for material deposited in the collectors. After collection, samples were taken immediately to the laboratory where they were separated into fractions of leaves/miscellaneous and branches. The levels of macronutrients (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S) and organic carbon (OC) were determined. The study of the deposition of litter in the forest was analyzed according to the randomized block design, with 12 treatments (months of the year) and 12 repetitions (for calculation purposes, the collectors in the plot were united, totaling 1.25 m² of collection, and each portion became a block). The deposition of litter was found to be seasonal, with higher production occurring at the end of the dry season, producing in the course of one year 9.3 Mg ha-1 being the largest fraction of deposition leaves/miscellaneous, which represented 89.0% of the total deposition. For litter there was little variation in the levels of macronutrients throughout the year; and calcium and phosphorus, respectively, were the nutrients found in highest and lowest levels in all fractions of the study. There was a total return of 506.62 kg ha-1.year-1 of macronutrients.
