Crescimento inicial de plantas de Pinus taeda L. originadas por semeadura direta no campo

Abstract

O trabalho analisou o crescimento inicial de plantas de Pinus taeda originadas por semeadura direta no campo em comparação com mudas, produzidas em tubetes. A semeadura foi realizada em 4 épocas do ano (estações), em solo revolvido e em solo sem preparo, porém com a vegetação rebaixada por roçada mecânica. Foi testado também o efeito de copos plástico, sem fundo, fixados sobre os pontos semeados. Decorridos 20, 17, 14 e 11 meses da semeadura, para as respectivas épocas, toda a população foi avaliada quanto a altura e diâmetro do solo alcançados. Os resultados obtidos demonstraram que a semeadura direta de Pinus taeda, é uma técnica de grande potencial, e que as plantas originadas pela semeadura em solo sem revolvimento apresentaram melhor crescimento inicial.

This research analyses initial growth of Pinus taeda plants, established by direct sowing and planted seedlings. The sowing was realized at 4 season in the year, on prepared and unprepared soil, however with the vegetation cutted. Also the effect of plastic shelters, placed on the seedspot were analysed. After 20, 17, 14 and 11 months of sowing, respectively for the four sowing seasons, all plants were evaluated for height and diameter growth. The analysis showed better growth on unprepared soil and a positive effect of the shelters. Direct sowing is therefore a potencial technique for establishment of Pinus taeda stands.
