dc.description.abstract	This paper presents a methodology to obtain cabic spline functions as a way of representing stem profiles of individual trees. The volumes of 12 trees were obtained by the integration of the spline functions compared with the volumes calculated by the Smalian formula. The average differences were always below 0,3%, compared to the total volumes, so as to the commercial ones, for vencer, sawtimber and for pulp.	pt_BR
