Resumo:
In this research were studied some important variables of the press cycle influencing tne. strength properties of waterboards manufactured from taeda pine. Were analysed the moisture content of the particles (3%, 5% and 10%), the press closing time (35 and 100 sec), the presslng time (8 and 15 min) and the use of 1% wax: over the particles, The 35 sec closing time showed positive results in MOE, MOR and internal bond. Moisture content only influenced MOE. The density gradients and pressíng times did, not affect the properties at all. From a general standpoint the pariel did have good quality, and most of the properties conformed to standard NPA CS-235-66.
