Sintomas de deficiência de macronutrientes e de boro em clones híbridos de Eucalyptus grandis com Eucalyptus urophylla

Abstract

Com o objetivo de induzir o aparecimento de sintomas de deficiências de macronutrientes e boro em clone híbrido de Eucalyptus grandis com Eucalyptus urophylla, realizou-se um experimento com solução nutritiva, com os seguintes tratamentos: completo, -N, -P, -K, -Ca, -Mg, -S e -B, com quatro repetições. A partir do 4º mês do início dos tratamentos até o final do experimento foram realizadas mensalmente descrições dos sintomas. Estabeleceu-se como padrão a soma da 5ª e 6ª folhas a partir do ápice dos ramos situados na parte superior e inferior da parte aérea. Outra amostragem foi realizada, na qual coletaram-se somente as folhas com sintomas de deficiências de N, P, K e Mg (folhas velhas) e de Ca, S e B (folhas novas). A seqüência de surgimento dos sintomas foi N, P, B, K, Ca, Mg e S. Os teores obtidos nas folhas quando omitiu-se o nutriente foram inferiores àqueles encontrados no tratamento completo, mostrando que os sintomas descritos foram em decorrência da ausência deste. Apesar dos teores obtidos nas folhas com a máxima manifestação dos sintomas terem sido menores que aqueles encontrados na soma da 5ª e 6ª folhas, estas mostraram, exceto para o cálcio, ser adequadas para identificar as deficiências nutricionais no Eucalyptus. A maior intensidade de sintomas ocorreu na deficiência de boro e a menor na carência de enxofre.

To characterise symptoms of macronutrient and boron deficiencies in hybrid clones of Eucalyptus grandis with Eucalyptus urophylla, a trial was conducted using nutrient solution, with treatments including complete solution and minus N, minus P, minus K, minus Ca, minus Mg, minus S and minus B with four replicates. Descriptions of the symptoms were made monthly, 4 months after the establishment of the treatments. Samples of leaves were collected to determine nutrient concentra- tions, taking the fifth and sixth leaf as standards, counted from the tip of the branches in both upper and lower parts of the crown. Another sampling was performed, collecting only leaves with deficiency symptoms, for N, P, K and Mg using old leaves and for Ca, S and B young leaves. The sequence of symptoms appearance was N, P, B, K, Ca, Mg and S. Nutrients concentrations in leaves of treatments with omitted nutrients were lower as compared to leaves of the complete treatment, indicating that the symptoms described were really due to the deficiency effect. The nutrient concentration of leaves with high symptoms was smaller than those for the fifth and sixth leaves, except for calcium. Eventhough, these leaves appeared to be adequate to predict nutritional deficiencies in Eucalyptus. The highest intensity of symptoms occurred for boron and the lowest for sulphur.
